Retrofitting Spray Foam Insulation in Existing Homes
The aim is to keep the air you have heated in...and the cold air out. Often poor performing insulations have already been installed in the attic space, and sometimes in the walls and floor. To give an idea how many gaps there are that the heat can escape though, all added together will total a hole the size of a football in a relatively modern house to a hole the size of a dustbin lid in an older traditional masonry house, so it’s not hard to see why the heat is lost and the house feels cold.
Small works - For works under a certain value we may need to charge a mobilisation charge; one way to get around this is if there are a few jobs close to each other...so why not ask your friends and neighbours if they are interested? Ask them to get in touch with us and mention that you have referred them and we will do the rest.
We can treat all types of existing homes; however it may not appear to be a cheap process and in addition to the Icynene installation you may have some joinery and redecoration work to do...but the improvements in the comfort of your home make it all worthwhile. The Icynene will pay for itself within the first few years, and then carry on delivering savings for the lifetime of the building. We are seeing reductions on heating bills of over 50% when a whole house is treated. If your budget is limited and will not stretch to a whole house treatment, then always treat the roof first as this will make the biggest difference...you can always do the walls and floor at a later date if you want to make further savings on your energy bills.
Call us to arrange a site visit; your building is a unique and valuable asset! You can also leave us your project details on our Contact page and we'll be in touch.
For existing residential dwellings, VAT is charged at a reduced rate which at present is 5% for energy saving measures.
